La Fin

Hello bloggie, it's been almost 6 years since my first post. I was in form 4 when I started this blog and here I am now, in my final semester of my Degree. What a journey it had been..

My finals starts tomorrow. French on Monday, Tax on Tuesday and then Audit on Wednesday. After that, my uni life would officially be over. Well actually I still have to sit for my external exams in December and I've chosen TARUC as my exam venue. Haha.. Anyway, I still consider my uni life to end in 3 days time.

I've been studying here for almost 4 and a half years and I have to say that it's been the best years of my life so far. Skipping classes, rushing for assignments, last minute studying, fighting for parking space, and also doing crazy stuffs with my friends. Those were the best memories :')

As my uni life comes to an end, I guess this would also be my last post. I've been trying to keep this blog alive but I guess this should be it. I'll still come back and laugh at my previous posts tho. Ahaha..

Thanks bloggie for keeping so many of my memories. I promise I'll come visit you sometimes. Till then :)

Internship #2

Time flies, it's already a month I've been in KPMG. Honestly speaking, I haven't been doing much besides helping my seniors with administrative works like printing, scanning and stuffs. I've also learn how to make coffee, for myself. Well it's rather easy, you just need to place your cup there and press a button. There were a few instances where I got to follow my seniors to client's office to perform vouching and casting but that's about all. I was told that my actual engagement starts next week, here comes the real stuffs I guess.

Tho there wasn't much work for me but I sure did enjoyed myself for the past few weeks. Last week, my department organised a 'Karaoke Night' and everyone from the department was invited, including the interns.  We get to sing from 7 till 12 and dinner will also be provided. Above all, there will be free flow of beer throughout the night. Free flow wor, how could I turn down such an offer? The picture below basically sums up the night. Haha..

Internship hangover

The very next day when I was in office, a notification popped out from my phone and it's from the Hotlink App. I tried my luck and surprisingly I managed to claim a pair of free TGV movie tickets. Hmm.. come to think about it, I've actually claimed quite many stuffs since I downloaded the app :D

Oh and I received my salary last Friday. It's not much but I'm still very happy cause it's still the largest sum of salary I've ever received.

Well overall my first month of internship went quite well, kinda boring actually. Haha.. Looking forward to be doing more audit related stuffs.

Internship

My one week holiday is coming to an end and I'm gonna start my internship tomorrow!! I will be doing my internship in KPMG which I'm really excited cause it's one of the 'big four' accounting firms. Will be staying at my aunt's place in SS2 since it's nearer to the company. It's been a long while since I last stayed there and I'm really looking forward to visit the night market on Thursday.

I missed those days when I could actually sleep during exams or even leave the examination venue early. Now that I'm in Degree level, I don't even have sufficient time to finish all the questions though it was a 3 hours paper, how sad. On the bright side, I'm glad to say that I've finally completed all of my F papers after almost 4 years of studying. Although I can't guarantee that I'll pass my Audit and FM but at least I know that I've tried my best, last minute studying and lotsa procrastination along the way. My next semester will be my industrial training which will last for around 3 months and then there's another 2 more semesters to go. That's when I'll be taking my P papers and if I could clear everything, hopefully, then I'll be graduating next year around September. Well it's still a long way to go.

So during this short break, me and my classmates decided to have a 2D1N trip to Bentong and Bukit Tinggi. We left Setapak at around 10am after having our breakfast and arrived at Kin Tick Orchard Village after just 30 minutes. The place looks very relaxing as it was located in the midst of the mountain covered by dense forest, the perfect place for a retreat. Upon reaching, we quickly unloaded all of our belongings and decided to go cycling. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough bikes for all of us and so we went jungle trekking instead. It was a rather disappointing walk to be honest as it only took us half an hour to complete the entire trek. The sun was above our heads by the time we returned to the main lobby and it was almost time for lunch. However, we decided that lunch could wait and so we went to Sungai Chiling first.

It wasn't a long drive to Sungai Chiling and we arrived in no time. The place was crowded but we still managed to enjoy ourselves there. At last, hunger took over and we left Sungai Chiling after about an hour. We had our lunch in Bentong and also tried the famous 'ice cream cendol' before heading back to Kin Tick Orchard Village. We were all pretty exhausted when we came back so we just spent the rest of the evening doing individual activities. Most of them went swimming while the rest went cycling. Given that I couldn't swim, I decided to go cycling with some of my friends. Late in the evening, we gathered back at the lobby for dinner. After dinner, we had karaoke session and some of us played jenga. At night, we returned to our dorms and played some card games, along with a little alcohol. Haha.. We didn't sleep until about 3am.

Surprisingly, we still managed to wake up the next morning for breakfast. We didn't do much after breakfast and I slept through the entire morning after having my breakfast. At about 12pm, it was time to check out. We bit farewell to Kin Tick Orchard Village and off we went to Bukit Tinggi. We visited the French Village and took lotsa pictures there. It started to drizzle late in the afternoon signalling us it was time to head back to the car park. We still managed to take a last group photo before the rain came pouring down. We ran back to the car park to retrieve our cars and head back to Setapak. It was already around 4pm when we reached Setapak and we had lunch.. er dinner? before bidding farewell to each other. Good luck and see ya guys in 3 months! :D

Taylor Swift Red Tour

Taylor Swift! Taylor Swift! Taylor Swift! It's all over my head right now.. Taylor Swift! Taylor Swift! Okay right I shall finish this post first before I get all crazy again. Ow Taylor Swift! Taylor Swift..

Yup I've been a Taylor Swift's fan since secondary school but I would never in my wildest dreams, picture myself seeing her live performance. Although she would be having a concert here in Malaysia but the fact that the tickets to her concert was sold out so quickly diminished all my hopes of attending it. The fact that I would be missing her Red Tour in Malaysia seems to be turning into a reality.. until the day before her concert.

It was a Tuesday and I was in my car taking a breather after my table tennis co-curriculum. Suddenly, a notification popped-out from my phone and it was from the Hotlink Red App regarding the contest to win Taylor Swift's concert tickets. It wasn't my first time seeing this notification and I've been trying my luck winning it for the past few weeks but apparently my claim icon always shows a 0 whenever I clicked in. I was about to ignore it but I told myself 'why not?' and so I clicked in and scrolled down to the bottom. I was expecting to see a 0 again but to my amaze, it shows 4! I quickly pressed the claim button and then there was this question that I would need to answer. It was asking about some awards which Taylor Swift did not received and I really had no idea which was the correct answer. I hesitated for a while and eventually chose the last option. Immediately the screen shows 'Congratulations!'. I've just won a pair of Red Zone tickets to Taylor Swift's Concert worth RM728 each!

So now I have a pair of tickets, who should I ask? I logged on to my Facebook and looked at my friend list and I thought 'Hey, why not ask TJ? Maybe she likes Taylor Swift too?'. I was afraid that since it was so last minute she might have other things to do but luckily she says okay. Great! So now I'm all set to go for the concert the next day.

Concert day! I was so excited that I wasn't even paying attention in class. We went early to avoid the traffic jams and arrived at Bukit Jalil at about 6.30pm. The crowd was already building up outside the stadium by the time we arrived. Everywhere we went it was all red in color and there were many vendors selling Taylor Swift's merchandise. We went to claimed our tickets at the Hotlink booth and then took a walk around the area taking some pics. I had the worst chicken rice ever at one of the restaurants there before entering the stadium at about 8pm. I was kinda disappointed as our seats were quite far from the stage but well, I can't complained much right since the tickets were free? Haha.. Not long after we found out seats, a local singer, which I have no idea who she was, performed a few songs before Taylor Swift finally went on stage at about 9pm. It's hard to describe the atmosphere when she appeared on stage but I'd say that it's totally mind blowing!

She started of with a few quick songs and it got everyone on their feet. I really did not expect her to be doing so many dancing and hot moves but eventually she did. She even spoke a few lines of BM like 'terima kasih' which made the crowd go crazy. After the opening, she went down to the opposite side of the stage and that's where I got to see her in close distance. I wanted to take pics of her but my phone's camera just doesn't do well in low lighting. She sang a few songs including 'You Belong With Me' and 'Enchanted' with her guitar before going back on stage. The rest of her performance was equally  awesome but the one song that really stood up was really 'Love Story' which I bet the whole stadium would know how to sing. Oh and boy she looks pretty when she wore the white dress while singing 'Love Story'. She ended her performance with 'We Are Never Getting Back Together' at about 10.30pm. I really felt that it ended too early but it was still worth it no matter what.

After the concert, we waited for the traffic to ease off a bit before going back. Tsk.. I really wished that it would not have ended so fast. We love you Taylor Swift and make sure to come to Malaysia again!!

Ow and thanks TJ for going to the concert with me :)

A Day To Be Remembered

I just came across my blog a few moments ago and realized that there's yet to be any blog entries for this year and it's already the month of April. This one should be a short one as I've still got to study for my finals. Why is it that I'm always finding other things to do during exam period the fact that I should actually be revising? Haha..

There's still one more paper to go for my finals and sad to say that this is the hardest paper among all. I've got tomorrow to study for my FR paper which I hope it's enough. Speaking about exams, I really did not expect this to happen to myself but eventually it did. Last Saturday during my HE paper, I was about to enter  the examination room and when I was about to reach out to my pocket for my wallet, it wasn't there! I was shock and lost for a brief moment as my student identification card was in my wallet. I went to the invigilator and told her my situation and she told me that I've got to verify my status before I'm allowed to enter the room. I knew it was only a one hour paper so I ran as fast as I could to the SBS office and luckily it didn't took long for the staff to verify my documents. I came back just in time to finish  my paper. Oh and I was also driving without my license that day :P

We're having a class trip to Penang after our finals and I'm really looking forward to it. Let's hope that I can make it through my last paper.

Convo '13

Yup I'm officially graduated after 3 years of Diploma. This day marks the end of yet another chapter of my life and also a beginning of a new one. I'll make this short and let the pictures do most of the talking.

So a few days before the actual ceremony, we had our own photograph session at Taman Layang-Layang. We went there in the evening and boy am I glad to see most of my classmates again.

Our official convocation ceremony was held on Saturday but unfortunately we were divided in morning and afternoon sessions according to our names. I did met most of my classmates that day and also some of my new classmates. Ow and one more thing, the ceremony was seriously boring and the speech alone took more than half an hour.

Well I guess that's it for now. DAC9 had been and will always be part of my life. Till we meet again next time :')

Pangkor Island

Right so it took me more than a week to finally post this. I can't seem to find any inspiration to blog but I know that I'll tend to forget the many details of the trip if I don't post this now. So here it goes..

It was a very last minute trip. Only a week before, I received an invitation from Wilson via Facebook regarding this trip to Pangkor Island. Given that the semester break is almost over and I've been doing nothing for my entire break, I clicked on the 'going' icon immediately and by doing so I was on for a trip to Pangkor Island along with 6 of my classmates.

The day before the trip, I went to stay over at PV15. We went out for dinner together and also karaoke later that night. The next day, we took a LRT to Pasar Seni and from there we walked to Puduraya bus station. I though we had arrived just in time to catch up with our bus but turns out our bus was delayed for about an hour. We eventually boarded a bus which took us to another bus station were we finally got on to the bus which was heading to Lumut. Surely, we were frustrated but tiredness took over and we all slept through the entire journey.

We arrived at Lumut at about 3pm and went to Marina Island where we would take a ferry to Pangkor Island. The ride took only 10 minutes and we were on Pangkor Island in no time. We left the harbor and went to the town in search of our hotel. It was only a short walk and we quickly checked in and settled down. After a short rest, we were discussing on where we would go after this and also for the rest of our trip. So in the evening, we decided to take a walk along a beach on the other side of the island. We were told that it was a short walk from our hotel but in actual fact it took more than 30 minutes. By the time we reach the beach it was already late in the evening and we manage to witness the sunset which was beautiful. We took our time there taking photos and fooling around. For dinner that day, we went to a nearby restaurant called '高佬' to try out their seafood. After dinner, we had to take that torturing 30 minutes walk back to our hotel. We were all worn out by the time we reached our rooms and I went straight to bed after taking my bath.

The next morning, we went down town to have our breakfast. Our next destination was yet again the beach we went yesterday but luckily we managed to rent a van to send us there. Vans were the main source of transport here unless you decide to rent a car or bike. Oh and speaking about van, it's very interesting to see that all the vans here are all pink in color. Our boat was ready to go by the time we reached the beach. The driver was a really friendly and funny guy and he took us around the island to have a look at some interesting sites. We stopped by a shallow coral reef for scuba-diving and the fishes there made up the thousands. It was a little scary to be honest but when we were in the water everything was fine and we had a great time. We also stopped by a remote beach to pick up some sea-shells and have a little swim. The sand was so white and the water so clear I wasn't really convinced that I was actually on the West coast. Haha.. We had a round of banana boat but it was kinda disappointing compared to the one in Sabah.

Sad enough that after playing the banana boat, we had to walk back to our hotel cause were where all wet and couldn't take a van. We washed up and had some rest before going out again to have our lunch. After lunch, we went to er.. a different beach this time which I've forgotten about the name. We just chilled ourselves there till evening. Hornbills were very common there and we had the opportunity to feed them in the evening. After that, we had dinner and went back to our hotel. That night, we were told that we could check which course we were  offered for our degree and everyone was suddenly busy with their phones. I was glad that I managed to enter the commerce program along with some of my previous classmates.

On the last day, we went to the Southern part of the island and visited a factory that produces fish satay. After that, we went to a temple and also some historical sites. By the time we returned to out hotel, it was almost time for check-out. We took a quick bath and packed our belongings. After that, we went down to return the keys and bit farewell to the owner of the hotel before heading to the harbor. We took the ferry back to Marina Island and a cab back to the bus station. We were all hoping that our bus would be more punctual this time. There was still a slight delay but what made the journey back so long was that the bus had to stopped by different stations around Teluk Intan to pick up passengers before even reaching the highway. Moreover, it rained in late in the evening and the traffic jam along Jalan Duta made it almost a 5 hours journey. We took a LRT back and bit farewell to each other once we reached Masjid Jamik.

It was a great trip :)

Sg Congkak

Camping's been part of my life ever since I've joined the Boys' Brigade. I've been to quite many camps now but there's always a new adventure waiting ahead. So this time we went to Sg Congkak, Ulu Langat for a 2D1N camp. Sg Congkak is a rather easy campsite which is perfect particularly when we are bringing juniors up this time. Oh did I mentioned that I've been here for 3 times already. Haha :D

We went there in 3 cars along with members from the 12th KL Company and it took us around an hour to reach the main entrance. Our campsite was further inside and we were supposed to walk there. Luckily I was one of the drivers this time and I get the privilege to drive my car straight to our campsite.

When we arrived at our campsite, the first thing we had to do was the clear the area and gather as much firewood as possible. We had some games after that and then comes the best part of camping - building fire to cook our own lunch. I had to admit that building fire isn't something easy but it's interesting to see how they tried (and most of the time fail) to build their own fire. Haha.. In the end, the officers had to help them out cause time was running out. After lunch, we pitch our tents and then it was time to get wet! we went water trekking in the river. I've done this a few times before but it's still challenging walking against the flow. We had fun playing in the water before returning to our campsite to prepare dinner.

Today's dinner was spaghetti! Yay.. well with no meatballs and insufficient sauce but who cares cause everyone's darn hungry by then. What they did not know was that our captain had bought KFC for us while they still indulge in the delicious spaghetti. Haha.. At last, I took out the KFC for them and everyone had a share of it. The sky was getting dark and we sang some songs and played some games. It started to rain not long after that and we all rushed into our tents. I initially decided to sleep outside cause it was much cooler before it started to rain. I realized that there was no shelter for me so I rushed into my car. In the end, I spent the whole night sleeping in my car. Haha.. Don't know if this is camping or car-ping xD

The next morning, we had pancakes and mushroom soup for breakfast. We cleared our campsite and were given some time to play in the river. We left the campsite at about 12pm. I'll always love camping :)
